The dramatic consequences of the flood of the century are still omnipresent for the people affected in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia, even if the flood disaster has meanwhile been pushed out of public awareness by other issues. Many residents of the areas that were completely flooded and destroyed in the summer are struggling to make ends meet. The clean-up work is still in full swing and will continue for a long time.
In order to help those affected on site quickly and without complications, IBsolution has delivered urgently needed relief goods as donations in kind to Antweiler in Rhineland-Palatinate via the Frauenweiler district association in Wiesloch. The equipment and machinery will be used to remove the debris and mud and to rebuild the houses. Antweiler has 700 inhabitants, belongs to the municipality of Adenau and is one of numerous small villages along the Ahr that were particularly badly affected by the flood disaster.

“The fate of the people in the flooded areas affects us deeply,” says Manuela Eggensperger, HR Manager at IBsolution. “It was a heartfelt concern for us to support the people with the things they currently need most urgently in order to master the reconstruction of the destroyed and damaged houses as quickly as possible.” Now that the mud has been removed from the houses and buildings, the next step is to empty, dry and clean everything.
“For the exemplary commitment and the opportunity to participate in the aid campaign, the Frauenweiler district association and the many volunteers deserve our great thanks,” says Manuela Eggensperger. “This enormous willingness to help sends a strong signal of social solidarity.” The contact to Antweiler came about through the personal connection between Adrian Seidler, the second chairman of the Frauenweiler district association, and local mayor Peter Richrath. In the meantime, the commitment of the Frauenweiler district association has been expanded into the “Wiesloch helps” campaign. In the future, the entire city of Wiesloch will participate in the support for the flooded areas with further aid missions, concrete donations in kind and the collection of monetary donations.
