Climate protection is one of the greatest challenges of our time. As part of their social responsibility, companies are called upon to make their contribution to the fight against climate change and to anchor climate protection in their business strategy. With the KLIMAfit funding program, the state of Baden-Württemberg offers an introduction to the topics of climate protection management and energy saving. Workshops and advisory services enable participants to strengthen corporate climate protection with effective measures.
IBsolution has successfully completed the KLIMAfit program. Following the final on-site inspection by an independent commission, the Heilbronn-based SAP consulting company received the “KLIMAfit company” certification. The official certificate ceremony took place on February 20, 2024 in Künzelsau.

“Climate protection plays a decisive role in the future viability and competitiveness of companies,” says Loren Heilig, Managing Director of IBsolution. “The KLIMAfit program provided valuable orientation for the implementation of effective measures with which we are further advancing climate protection in our organization.”
As part of a materiality analysis, IBsolution identified the relevant drivers of CO2 emissions at the headquarters in Heilbronn and drew up a greenhouse gas balance sheet. The data serves as a basis for deriving suitable climate protection measures. After one year, a regular review is carried out to determine whether the measures adopted have been effective and the greenhouse gas balance has been improved.
One specific example from the catalog of measures is the optimization of server operation, as the server rooms proved to be the largest consumers of electricity in the materiality analysis. With regard to the company car policy, the aim is to significantly increase the proportion of vehicles with alternative drive systems. New procurement guidelines stipulate that products and services from suppliers who comply with sustainability standards and promote environmentally friendly practices are preferred.
Climate protection has also been anchored at a strategic and organizational level. For example, IBsolution has adopted a climate protection guideline that serves as the basis for the company’s efforts to combat climate change and represents a declaration of commitment to promote sustainable business practices. The company is also committed to continuously expanding its climate management and establishing an organizational structure for climate protection.
The KLIMAfit funding program of the state of Baden-Württemberg consists of several program components. In joint workshops and individual on-site consultation appointments, participants examine the fields of action of corporate climate protection, learn the basics of meaningful accounting and develop individual measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and optimize energy efficiency in the company. In terms of continuous improvement of climate protection performance, the KLIMAfit programme also lays important foundations for establishing a climate-neutral organization at a later date.
